On Friday 7th March, Chris Elmore MP, alongside Huw Irranca-Davies MS and Sarah Murphy MS, hosted a well-attended Funding Advice Day at Brackla Community Centre in Bridgend. The event brought together key funding bodies to provide local organisations, charities, and community groups with practical advice on securing financial support for their projects.
With representatives from various funding organisations in attendance, the event offered valuable opportunities for groups across Bridgend & Porthcawl to explore potential funding streams, make connections, and develop plans for new initiatives. Many attendees left with new contacts and ideas to support their projects, and funders were keen to engage with local groups to ensure funding reaches the people and organisations that need it most.
Chris Elmore MP said:
“It was great to see so many local groups engaging with funders and exploring opportunities for their projects. Events like this help ensure that organisations in our community can access the support they need to grow and continue their vital work.”
Throughout the event, a wide range of discussions took place, with funders offering tailored advice to help organisations understand the application process and eligibility criteria for different grants. Attendees could ask questions, share their aspirations for community initiatives, and better understand the support available to them.
A wide range of funders attended the event, including (clink link to visit website):
