Chris Elmore MP for Bridgend & Porthcawl, today had the honour of welcoming pupils from the London Welsh School/Ysgol Gymraeg Llundain to Parliament earlier this week as part of the St. David’s Day celebrations in Westminster.

The celebration began with a special service in the Chapel of St. Mary’s Undercroft, led by the Archbishop of Wales. The pupils captivated the attendees with a series of musical performances, showcasing their immense talent and pride in Welsh culture.

Following the service, the pupils took to the steps of the Speaker’s House, where they performed Mis Mawrth Unwaith Eto in front of the Speaker of the House of Commons, cross-party elected representatives, parents, and a strong presence from the ‘Welsh in London’ community. In a heartwarming gesture, the pupils presented the Speaker with a beautiful bouquet of daffodils, a symbol of Wales and its national celebration.

Chris Elmore MP said:
“It was a privilege to welcome the London Welsh School to Parliament for such a special celebration of Welsh culture and heritage ahead of St David’s Day. The pupils performed beautifully and truly represented the vibrancy of our language and traditions. It was wonderful to see the enthusiasm and talent of the pupils from Ysgol Gymraeg Llundain. Their performances were a fantastic tribute to our Welsh identity.”

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making this celebration memorable ahead of St David’s Day this weekend. Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus!
