Chris Elmore, Welsh Labour MP for Ogmore, has welcomed news that Llangynwyd Rangers is set to take over the Llangynwyd playing fields and pavilion later this month.

Earlier this year, Chris Elmore alongside Huw Irranca Davies MS wrote a joint letter to Bridgend Council urging them to support the bid from Llangynwyd Rangers. In the letter to the Council, it stated: “It is clear that the club’s vision is one that supports the local and further community and is a vision that should be congratulated.”

Following the announcement that the Club has been successful in its bid, Chris Elmore, MP for Ogmore, said:

“Community sport is so important. It helps bring people together, develop new skills and often improves your mental health. I was pleased to support the bid from Llangynwyd Rangers and I know this new partnership with Bridgend Council will help the club grow and improve.

Chris has now written to the club chairman to offer his congratulations and looks forward to seeing the improvements to the pavilion, sports fields and further future success for the club and all who play there.”
